A guest pointed out that it would be nice to know the status of Villa Tesori. One hears many things after watching all the destruction wrought by Irma and Maria. They wanted to rent our home and did not know the status. We will put up notice in this area from now on post storms.
We have refunded or moved dates of all guests subjected to the storms interference. This storm was an Act Of God and none of you wanting to stay should be subject to loss due to it.
As of today, October 19th Villa Tesori will not accept guests before December 16th 2017. Our home is fine. The windows have been replaced, one window in the apartment ordered. All but one door is fixed to our satisfaction and that door has been ordered (it was a maids closet). The 2 solar panels which were struck have been ordered and will likely be installed before guests arrive. Our whole house (50kw) generator is operating. The lone fish post light which died will be replaced as soon as Catherine Perry has time to make it.
However, our island friends are using our home. Even homes which were not damaged now have no power. With small generators the most that they can do is take a cold shower and try and keep food cold. We have people staying and others who stop by to take showers and do their laundry and cook something more than canned food.
Having that said, we have friends who want all of you back now. Our little island lives by tourism. Lisa and I feel caught in the middle. We understand both sides and have chosen so far to help our local community via donations and offering our home to friends in need.
We are told to expect electric soon. Subject to our local utility establishing electric service to our home we will offer the following.
December 16-23 whole house 7000
December 23-30 whole house 8000
December 30-January 6 whole house 8000
Should there be no power a full refund will be provided less CC fees.. However with 500 linemen from stateside assisting our 51, we are optimistic that power will be back soon.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for our islands and their beautiful people.
Brian, Lisa and the entire Destination St. John team.
